Last year, the very weekend that the Burrell High School Drama Club opened A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, the coronavirus pandemic shut down the nation. And while the show ran, we were forced to run to a reduced audience, that ultimatley led to the organization losing $5000 over the course of the season. Now, as we approach the fall production, we are forced to grapple with the fact that if theatre is going to be presented this year, it is going to have to be done via live stream. Considering last year's losses, and the fact that the group is currently under equipped for such a venture, we are reaching out to patrons of the arts in an attempt to help fund the cameras that will be needed in order to get our fall production up and running.
