Hands-on tools are essential for learning. Manipulatives not only allow students to construct their own cognitive models for abstract mathematical ideas and processes, they also provide a common language with which to communicate these models to the teacher and other students. With Covid, it is hard to make sure each student has an opportunity to use manipulatives. Funding this project will help EACH student learn with their own set of tools. Base Ten Blocks and calculators can be kept in each students supply box with no need of sharing or extra cleaning between each use.

About my class
