If this project is funded, an air purifier will provide a safer and cleaner learning environment for my students. Our school district has decided to have all students return to in-person learning without reducing class sizes which makes social distancing in the classroom a challenge. Given the surge of the new Delta variant Covid-19 has become an even bigger threat to our students' age group. As we approach California wildfire season, we must find a means for proper air ventilation in our classroom. Although students will be required to wear masks in school and all classroom windows and doors will be open, an air purifier with a HEPA filter will help reduce the risk for the Covid-19 virus providing another safety measure to protect my students from possible virus transmission. With the increasing number of California wildfires we fear air quality will worsen and our dependence on outside air flow to ventilate our classroom will be harmful to our students.
