My first graders would love to have a Listening Center in our Classroom! The benefits of listening centers: Models fluent reading, helps students decode unfamiliar words, teaches critical listening skills, introduces new vocabulary, provides a read-aloud model, introduces new genres that students might not otherwise consider, and introduces students to books above their reading level. I want my amazing students to have every opportunity available to acquire a love of reading! To be able to use a variety of teaching methods in my classroom to help them grow academically and independently would be amazing.
