The materials that were curated for this project will a) allow the teachers to create instructional materials and stay organized, b) provide students with sensory tools to support their sensory needs, and c) provide students with toys and games that will allow them to practice communication, motor, play, leisure, and social skills. Examples of items & their purpose: 1) Easel, file folders, laminating sheets, velcro -- learning activities such as communication, matching, calm down/coping strategies, etc. 2) Games -- play, leisure, and social skills learning. Skills I could teach include playing with peers, turn-taking, finding a leisure activity, and more. For example, the Pop the Pig and Pop Up Pirate games are great for teaching communication, social, play, fine motor, and color identification skills. 3) Toys -- support students with sensory needs & provide more leisure/play options. For example, once a student finds toys with lights calming when overwhelmed.
