This will be my first year teaching in my own classroom. These materials will help me create a warm, welcoming environment where the students will feel comfortable to learn and take risks. My best memories in school were made on the rug. The big alphabet rug will be placed front and center in the classroom for us all to gather on. Stories will be read and memories will be created every day on the rug together. The other materials that I am requesting, flexible seating options and light coverings, will help me create a space that promotes learning and collaboration.
