I have the honor of teaching a diverse and incredible group of students. My students deserve to have a classroom library that reflects each of them. In years past, I have strived to integrate a variety of texts into my classroom. However, with the current climate of our world, I am committed to doing better for my students and families. These books will provide my students with opportunities to read about diverse cultures, families, and social settings. I want all of my students to see themselves when they pick a book from our classroom library. My students need texts that will help them make sense of the our changing world. I believe these books are a great first step to teaching my students about the importance of accepting each other and celebrating each other's unique differences.
