Although my school is starting the year virtually, we are hopeful that conditions will improve and in-person learning will occur at some point in the 2020-2021 school year. Although there are already quite a few books in my classroom library that I have purchased from various thrift stores, there has been an explosion of diverse authors publishing phenomenal material over the last decade. I am happy and privileged to teach students from multiple backgrounds, but I would love it if my classroom library better reflected the many amazing voices in this world. Even if we do not go back to in-person learning this year, I can still give book talks throughout the school year and guardians can still stop at the school to "check out" these titles from my classroom library for their children.
