These ergonomic chairs are going to help students focus by enabling them to move more flexibly in my art classroom. COVID seems to have led to many students being less active by being stuck inside without creative outlets. Now being back in school, some of them struggle with the more formal and productive setting. By providing them with flexible seating, I am hoping to help them channel their kinetic and emotional energy and help them focus on the assignment at hand. The students have been greatly enjoying these chairs in the past. Not a day goes by in which there isn't a negotiation as to who gets to sit in the one stool that I do have in my room! This project will help support the entirety of the Creating Strand of the Nevada Visual Art Standards (VA:Cr.) for which students are required to conceive and develop new artistic ideas and work.
