Scholastic News is a weekly magazine that supports grade level science and social studies content. The magazines are engaging and high-interest to kids in this age group. I will be able to better know my students' interests and encourage future career paths through exploring these topics with them. The pictures and text help support all levels of readers that are growing in my class. I'm so excited to see who might be a future zoologist, cartographer, environmentalist, or inventor -- the interest sparked by these magazines could have impacts for decades to come! Having the digital component will allow them to review the magazines at home with their families, and will give us the flexibility if our school setting changes to fully remote, that I can assign the work on their computers from anywhere.
