While completely submerging ourselves in a virtual environment can be strange and baffling in itself- it certainly does not help when students are additionally surrounded by external environmental distractions. A large cause of student withdrawal in my virtual classroom is inability to sufficiently listen to lectures or follow directions, in turn adding to a lack of participation. Within large family's, in active homes, I want my students to retain resources that will help increase their ability to listen and engage. By distributing a pair of headphones to each student (prioritizing those who do not have a pair already), this will inherently increase student comprehension, information absorbing and our classroom productivity.
