I am requesting a math library so my children can learn that math is all around us. These books will help build their conceptual understanding of real and abstract numbers. Many of my students struggle with understanding the base-ten number system as well as with abstract numbers like fractions. They become frustrated. This can lead to low or poor self-esteem and behavior challenges. It is my hope that these materials will expose them to real world examples of numbers and how they work. Students will have access to these books and given the autonomy to use them daily.
