After a long year of quarantines, social distancing and uncertainty help me welcome my students back into a classroom full of excitement and possibilities. Last year during all the uncertainty and changes, even a small choice helped students feel empowered. The ability to choose a spot on the floor, a seat that wobbles, or a ball they can balance not only gives students the power of choosing how they learn best but helps them stay motivated and on task as well. Not every student learns best at a desk, and for some alternative seating is essential. By providing different options I can show students from the very first day that this is a space where everyone's needs matter. Thank you for your help, I know my students will thrive in a classroom designed to support and empower them!
