In a technology driven society, it is crucial that students have the equipment they need to thrive in such a society. iPads will not only strengthen their literacy skills, but broaden their skills in the use of technology. These skills will prepare them to be confident and able to operate successfully for the years to come. Students will use this iPad for reading centers as well as for interventions in the classroom. Time spent learning the content is increased with iPads rather than on desktops because they can make their choices by touching the screen and not typing or using a mouse. These iPads will ensure that students can build and grow their literacy skills as well as their mathematics abilities. I am confident that this project will create a new wave of excitement and learning in the classroom! Having this iPad in the classroom will support a differentiated learning station. Providing differentiation in the classroom is vital for students to learn based on their specific needs. Technology is a great way to offer this, and students are building a foundation for establishing skills needed to operate technology at such a young age. This, too, is vital for students to be successful and build lifelong skills in which they will continue to build on and use the rest of their life. It is my goal to close the learning gaps to the best of my ability and this will get me one step closer to meeting this goal!
