Couches in room 101 will be very special for my students because it gives them an opportunity to feel like they are in a special space while learning to read. All of my students are English language learners, so reading in English is already a struggle. This project will help make the challenge fun, and cozy at the same time. These couches are wipeable so they can even be used during the current pandemic, and will make reading exciting! My students have stations that they go to depending on their reading levels so all students will have the opportunity to use these couches on a daily basis. Additionally, making a classroom feel special and inviting is also a very important piece of childhood development. This project will bring a "home" feel to our classroom, which will help with the social-emotional piece of going to school.
