During our time of virtual learning, it is important to provide students with an optimal learning experience that closely resembles the teaching techniques utilized in school. Developing learners need to be able to visually see strategies being taught to them in order to apply them. A document camera will enable me to model effective strategies for learning to read and write, share stories, demonstrate math concepts, present science experiments, and more! We use magnetic letters, reading fingers, counters, and other manipulatives to ensure success while learning in Kindergarten. A document camera will enable me to demonstrate how to chunk words, use picture clues in text, make observations when reading, focus on voice/print match, demonstrate math concepts such as counting and one-to-one matching, explain addition and subtraction concepts, model letter and number formation, and also be able to share some wonderful read-aloud stories and science experiments with them. I want to ensure that students have the very best experiences I can give them during our time of distance learning. This document camera will make it easier for me to provide them with the tools they need to be successful learners.
