I teach first grade at a Title 1 school. We are doing virtual learning for the first nine weeks of the year. I want my students to have all the supplies they need for a successful school year. Manipulatives can be used for a myriad of activities. There are virtual manipulatives that students can use online. There will be a greater impact on learning if the students can have the sensory experience of having manipulatives in their hand. In all subjects, it is important to have a sensory component to improve retention.
