Hello friends! I teach very very different yet similar students who I love to death. I have students who are huge sensory seekers in their own creative ways and they are all working on life skills, social skills, and behavior skills. In addition to what I just listed, sensory stimulation and social/ emotional learning I are huge themes in my classroom. When it comes to sitting down and doing work, my students often times refuse to do the work and run around the room. Instead of chasing them, I wait in the front of the room, and ring a bell hoping they settle down and walk over to me. The hands on learning approach I take helps my students stay engaged during their work in addition to providing the sensory input my students need to function daily. The social emotional aspect of my classroom is pertinent to helping them learn social skills and life skills. Thank you so much! And I hope you have a swell day!
