My district has opted to continue with remote learning for the time being. An iMac desktop computer will allow me to provide my students with high-quality speech and language teletherapy services. Our district is currently providing virtual therapy using Chromebooks, which has posed many challenges including poor video quality, poor audio quality, small storage capacity, and extended lag time. Speech teletherapy through the use of a Chromebook has made it difficult for my students to receive real-time models, and hear appropriate cues and prompts to improve their communication skills. The use of this iMac during virtual speech-language therapy sessions will ensure my students have an adequate picture to see my face, read my cues, and hear my voice clearly in order to understand my models and prompts as well as make effective progress. Virtual therapy and learning is a reality that we are currently facing and I am dedicated to guaranteeing that my students receive the best possible speech and language teletherapy services. iMacs are compatible with all virtual platforms and provide excellent audio and video quality which will allow me to collect accurate data and closely monitor student progress. With your help, my students will continue to make effective progress with their communication, even from a distance! Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about my students and this project as well as considering contributing to this cause. Your support and generosity will help provide the high quality learning experience that my students require during these challenging times.
