This will be a club to encourage students to do their best academically and behaviorally, while showing them some basic gardening skills to share with their families. The requested materials / tools will get them started by providing hands-on equipment used to plant and maintain a garden. Our school already has 2 neglected raised beds in the courtyard, so the only additional things we'll need are soil and seeds. Gardening skills help foster healthier eating, confidence building, and a community spirit. As students research plant material, composting, harvesting, etc., they will expand their reading comprehension and vocabulary. They might learn a bit about science, too ;)
