The 3D pen refills were the first thing students reached for. Many of them had used the pens before, but we never had enough filament for everyone to experiment the way they wanted. With the new supplies, students were able to try more detailed designs and actually finish their ideas instead of stopping halfway.\r\n\r\nThe lanyard string and pony beads gave students another hands on option that is easy to use and welcoming for beginners. A few students who were nervous about the 3D pens started with the bead kits and then worked their way up to trying the pens. It has been nice to see students build confidence by creating something small and then pushing themselves to learn a new tool.\r\n\r\nThese materials helped us keep creativity at the center of the library. The printer lets us produce crisp, customized visual aids, task cards, and daily schedules on demand—materials we use every day to support IEP objectives. Having printed resources ready when we need them keeps lessons clear, reduces anxiety during transitions, and lets students practice targeted skills more frequently without waiting for replacements.\r\n\r\nFor donors familiar with home printers, this may seem simple, but in a school setting it removes many small barriers to learning. The printer makes it easy to adapt materials for individual needs, update supports as students progress, and provide multiple copies for hands‑on practice. Students are excited to use the fresh, tactile resources: many now choose task cards independently and follow printed schedules with less prompting. A few learners with communication and sensory needs have especially benefited—clear visuals help them stay calm and engaged, directly supporting their IEP goals. Books like Ain't Burned All the Bright and Long Way Down have made it easier to talk about things like mental health and resilience. A few students who normally wander around during independent reading are now sitting longer because the chairs make it easier to focus.\r\n\r\nNext, my Library Helper Club wants to create rotating \"book spotlight\" displays near the chairs so students can grab a featured book and start reading right away.
