Many of my students lack the basic tools for success in high school math courses. In this time of COVID restrictions, the need to put a calculator in the hand of each of our students is vital since it is dangerous to share classroom sets. They need their own calculator to use both in class and at home, but unfortunately many of our students are unable to afford to purchase their own. These calculators will assist our students in basic calculations to help accelerate their learning as they study algebra and geometry concepts. Some specific examples of how the calculators will used include simplifying radicals when using the Quadratic Formula in Algebra 1 and calculating the area of sectors of circles in Geometry. These calculators will also be used on the Georgia Milestones End of Course assessments.
