In the Easter 2020 tornado that hit Chattanooga, TN, I lost all of my classroom materials. As you can imagine, it was thousands of dollars worth. I am working hard to rebuild what was lost, but to also provide a safe, comfortable and loving environment for the students I serve. Flexible seating has been suggested by researchers to access higher level thinking. Flexible seating also promotes a sense of choice, sensory input, comfort, and physical health. This also allows for a sense of fun for the classroom environment and allow students to choose how they feel they can learn most effectively. I am so excited to implement flexible seating in my behavior classroom this year.
