Every year I spend hundreds of dollars getting school supplies for my students. I teach in a Title 1 school that has a large population of special education students as well as English language learners. We have also started to get students that live in shelters. This year I will be the general ed teacher in a special ed class. All this being said many basic things that are needed to help the class run smoothly is often put on the back burner. Every year I have to purchase such things as a stapler, shaperner and pencils. I have already spent over $200 on supplies for my students and will continue to buy things throughout the year.
