I believe students should have constant access to a large selection of reading material to activate and feed their interests and develop their reading skills. I need to build a classroom library for second grade from the ground up. Second-graders are just starting chapter books as well as reading interesting picture books. My classroom currently has little selection of any genre. Having these books available in my classroom at a time when library visits are very limited due to Covid will help my students get excited about reading in the class and at home.
