Help support Ms. Chun's Classroom

Our district will be engaged in full-time remote learning this fall, and my students need the necessary supplies to participate and succeed in their learning. Remote learning with my diverse learners this past spring had many obstacles, so I have identified one specific solution that could lessen the disruption of learning through the remote learning experience. I would like to provide basic necessities for my students to support their remote learning, like headphones with mics and whiteboards. As my students need support in basic phonics and reading skills, headphones will help minimize distractions while at home, as they listen for letter sounds, and the microphones will allow teachers to effectively gauge their reading levels. Also, in the classroom, I typically had a set of whiteboards that I used daily to play interactive math and reading games with my students, as competition encourages the students to participate and stay engaged. The use of individual whiteboards also helped me as a teacher to check their understanding as I taught newer concepts, so having a set of whiteboards to send home with my students will help mimic our learning environment prior to the pandemic. Lastly, an individual whiteboard for me to use on my end is needed to execute my lessons that I will teach this Fall. This is a useful tool that I will continue to use when we return to in-person learning to use in small groups and also as the I, as the special education teacher, jump from classroom to classroom.
