For every book that is bought, donated, and placed on the shelves of my library, my students express an overflow of love and gratitude. Additionally, your display of kindness and generosity provides a tangible example of the values that I am teaching within my classroom New books for my 7th grade students will continue to build their literacy skills, expose them to new ideas/authors, challenge perspectives, and create a strong community of learners beyond the classroom. Finally, I will use these young adult novels as mentor texts to facilitate my students growth in writing. They will be drawing comparisons across multiple authors, genres, and texts, to scaffold their own grammar, punctuation, and sentence building skills.
