We are an inner city school located in downtown St. Louis. 100% of our families receive free and reduced lunch. Many students only eat while they are are here at school. My students regularly deal with trauma in many forms; abuse, poverty, homelessness, hunger, imprisonment of family members, etc. Because of all of these situations, concentration and focus on learning is a challenge. My students crave attention and experience. They want to learn and are excited when they make new connections.
