The classroom is in need of a few basic items (pencils, notebooks, highlighters, folders) that my students will need on a daily basis to engage with class material and optimize their learning-- both in the classroom and at home. Many of my students and their families have various financial needs, and this in turn makes is difficult for them to purchase basic (but crucial) supplies that are necessary for their learning. Pencils will be used for writing, notebooks will be used for taking notes and engaging in daily classroom activities, highlighters will be used for annotating and providing feedback, and folders will be used for storing and organizing important documents. Although my students face challenges on a daily basis, they are resilient beyond belief. They truly value their education and take responsibility for their learning.
