Students can often demonstrate disruptive behavior when they aren't able to communicate effectively. When BIG feelings show up, our kiddos need a comfortable and safe place in the classroom they can go to. This helps to reduce disruptions to learning, and it keeps students in the classroom. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase our student's ability to process their feelings, but you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. The students will be able to go to the Zen Zone, choose a comfortable seating option, and enjoy the calming ambiance of the the twinkle lights. While in the Zen Zone, they will be able to practice using coping strategies including hugging a Calming Cuddle Ball, using a Puppy Weighted Lap Pad, or any of the other coping strategies displayed in the clear Deflect-O Conversation File Jackets until they are back to the Green Zone, feeling regulated, and are able to return to their seat. Students will miss less instructional time by learning to use this space to regulate themselves in the classroom.
