Young children can enjoy a multi-sensory experience when using art materials, whether on the floor or on a table. The art area is a place where children can simply explore materials to create designs or make something that can represent a living thing, a place or a real object.
In addition to creating art and expressing their ideas and feelings, children develop and learn other skills such as language skills (they talk about, share information and respond to questions asked about their creation), physical skills (expressive movement, coordination and fine motor skills that help develop motor strength and coordination), social emotional skills (they use art to express how they or how others are feeling), and math skills (they create and learn more about colors, patterns, and various types of lines).
I would like to provide my students with art materials so they would be able to enjoy and explore art while at home during remote learning. I would like to send materials home for them to create and express their ideas.
