As students with special needs and English Language Learners, my students will learn to socialize in small group instruction while building phonological and basic reading skills. The furniture will support a non-traditional space where the grouping provides a 2:1 Explicit Instruction learning station with the teacher. The headphones minimize distractions and focus us on auditory based materials selected. Reading materials are focused on building their phonological and basic reading strengths. Given they are grade 4 and 5 students who are non-literate or significantly below level, they need help now! Our goal is develop true readers among our class.
