Welcome to Ms. Pendar's math class. Our class is driven through the idea of discovery and exploration of math concepts. Currently, I am a first year teacher teaching seventh grade math. These students are in need of the tools to be able to conceptualize and manipulate the math concepts we are working towards. In math, the use of manipulatives increases understandings of abstract concepts. My students and I are looking to deepen our understanding of concepts such as negative numbers and algebra through the use of hands-on activities. In order to achieve this, we need more tools in our classroom that foster thinking to build up math practice standards and allow us to expand our curiosity of math.
