My student are low income and many times they come to me from very broken situations. I will use the lap top to research lessons for reading and writing that make learning come alive. For example: I will have a lessons requiring the students to create google slides which demonstrate the process of their thinking as we move through different passages. They can create T-charts or Web designs or even draw. Whatever helps them discover what they're thinking as we read through the passages. I will use the lap top to model the process to the students. The students will have to demonstrate this process digitally for me and then use that process to create presentations that analyze the works that we read. I will use the lap top to model this process. They will use the lap top to present to the class. I will also use the lap top to create fun interactive online notebooks which parallel the works that we read. The students will write and illustrate the stories of their life. I will use the lap top to model that process. They will use the lap top to present what they came up with. I do a lot of online projects with the students to help them to discover more about the world around them. I love to show them how they don't have to just stay stuck in the circumstances they've felt trapped by, but they can learn and grow and become whoever they want to become.
