I would love to be able to give each of my students a math tool kit they can use either at home or in the classroom. In a third/fourth split, a few things we learn about are multiplication, division, measuring angles, and fractions. Whether our school year is in-person or virtual, my students will be able to utilize these math tool kits for the entire school year. In our first few units, we learn about multiplication and division. The flash cards, white boards, dry erase markers, and multiplication charts will be very useful for my students during this time. After multiplication and division, my fourth graders will move to learning about measuring angles. The protractors are needed for my students to be successful in measuring different size angles. Our final math unit for the year is learning about fractions. The fraction tiles will help my students visually see the different benchmark fractions, compare fractions, and learn about equivalent fractions. I am also asking for a Fraction Stax. This will allow me to show the students how to use their fraction tiles by demonstrating on either a document camera from the classroom or virtually from my computer. The mesh bags will help keep my students organized with all their materials in one place.
