Kids are sponges! They’re constantly observing and forming opinions about themselves and others, which means this is a crucial time to teach them how to value the beautiful diversity in our world. Books offer us a perspective and experience that we may otherwise never know, and that glimpse into someone else’s story can be integral in creating open and accepting minds and hearts. The world is a very diverse place. It’s full of people living extremely different lives, even within the same community or classroom. To aid in raising children to be culturally aware, it is our duty to teach them about different ethnicities. This is where children’s books about diversity come in!
