In a modern classroom, technology integration is a must. This integration comes in many forms. As an English teacher, it is especially important that I model reading skills (such as annotation) and writing skills (such as revision). This is done most effectively using a quality visual device such as a Smart TV. In our English classroom, multi-media elements are a useful supplement to the traditional curriculum. A Smart TV also allows such elements to be incorporated seamlessly. Being able to demonstrate instruction and include additional multi-media aspects during class on a Smart TV will enhance learning and help students strengthen reading and writing skills. Not only will the device increase student engagement because of its visual nature, but it will also help students develop practical reading and writing skills. Additionally, since a Smart TV will allow for the class to move more quickly and easily, it will increase student learning.
