These books are reflective of my classroom. My students need books that reflect the lives that they live. I want them to find themselves in the books they read. My kids need to see characters that look like them. Some of these books are in Spanish, some of them tell stories of children facing hard situations, all of them will give students exposure to language and that's the most important thing. I want kids to have the opportunity to see children who look like them, sound like them, and live like them. These books are an excellent way to help make that happen.
