Daily journal writing is so important. It allows you to express thoughts and feelings in a safe place. In the current environment, it is even more crucial to have a safe place to express your feelings. Providing each student with a notebook will allow them to write everyday and let the feelings out rather than bottling them up. Modeling good writing is so important and having students immediately try it out will help them to internalize the strategies needed to be effective and strong writers. The chart paper will allow for class charts and provide students with good examples. The white boards will allow students to try the strategy immediately and several times. The reusable write and white boards will allow for less copying (which gives the teacher more time to plan amazing lessons!). They also give students the space to try out the strategy can in different given scenarios. These materials allow for hands on, immediate practice, and strong student engagement. All students in my class will have the opportunity to become the writer they want to be.
