These manipulatives will be used during math instruction and games to provide hands-on practice of skills. I want my students to have the opportunity to fully engage into the lesson as they build knowledge to develop number sense. The dice, magnetic numbers, and 10 frames will be used in a variety of number games to work on recognition, more, less, equal to, addition and subtraction. The links are a good tool to have for a visual to acheive the above skills. Having these math manipulatives will provide my students the needed to tools for academic success as well as number sense achievment. Children need to gain these skills for academic success as well as real life achievements. The development of early math success will carry over to provide a strong ability to mentally solve mathematical problems throughout daily life. As this growth happens, students can become more confident and successful inside and outside of the classroom.
