Students learn best by doing. To that end, a newly established journalism class will teach students to become reporters by interviewing sources, taking notes, and writing news articles from those notes. Having the proper tools -- including access to something as simple yet vital as a reporter's notebook and pen -- will enable students to experience hands-on training in becoming the next generation of society's watchdogs. These young reporters will be encouraged to carry their notebook and pens (Yes, "pens" plural; a good journalist always carries two pens, in case one runs out of ink) with them at all times, ready to document important news in and around school.
