Manipulatives are extremely influential and helpful to a student's understanding of math. These resources will be made available to help students retain the key concepts being taught. When students receive the opportunity to explore math through the use of manipulatives or other hands on resources, all of the light bulbs begin to turn on and meaningful connections are developed. Students will be able to manipulate the number lines to create a more tactile experience, thus helping them better understand the concepts. Students will learn and experience how to manipulate pattern blocks to create images and figures, which aligns with our STEM goals for the classroom. Through the use of hands on manipulatives, my students will get the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of math and mathematical concepts. Donations to my project will excite 26 adorable first graders who are working very hard every day to learn .
