The requested material will give the students visual representations of items to increase their vocabularies and overall language skills. All the material requested is hands on, which typically assists in keeping the students' attention and focus in order for optimal learning to be achieved. The material also represent a variety of activities and/or approaches to learning to keep their attention. The Pre-K and kindergarten impaired students require brightly colored, or tangible items in order for them to attend and learn. They do not typically listen to instruction if it involves the abstract. Actual items to look at keeps them more focused. Additionally, the material selected covers a large variety of language concepts. My older special needs students will benefit from increasing their vocabularies from the items selected so that poor knowledge and use of vocabulary will not adversely impact their reading comprehension.
