Covid-19 means my students will be learning from home. I want to put some great independent reading books in their hands so that we can have virtual book discussions together. I want my students to see characters and authors who look like them, who have similar challenges, who come from all over the world. Kids will borrow a book from school, read and share what they've learned with their peers, and (after some disinfecting) trade books and do it all again. That is how kids fall in love with reading.
