My students learn about Family and Consumer Sciences. They learn how they will manage their house hold that includes budgeting, cooking, sewing, and purchases. Students will use this ice machine to learn meal costing, meal preparation, equipment maintenance, learn about water akalinity and time and temperature controls for safety. Projects include learning how to calibrate a thermometer, learning what the white stuff is that builds up around faucets, cooling food to get it out of the dnager zone, preparing food that includes ice as an ingredient and return on investment.
