Sensory manipulatives are a helpful tool for students to calm their bodies, redirect behaviors, and exploring. With the new Covid restrictions, each child will have their own learning bin. Their bin will include crayons, pencils, dry erase marker, individual white boards, books, and math and reading manipulatives. These specific sensory manipulatives are plastic and will be easier to disinfect. We are not allowed to have any material objects in the classroom, so that has eliminated many manipulatives for my students. The individual white boards will be used in their learning bins. The students will use these boards for reading, phonics, math, and handwriting. Many of my friends are just learning how to write and they enjoy exploring with markers.
