My role as an educator is to foster a love of learning. I strive to create an environment for my students that makes them feel safe, happy, and successful. Many of my students come to school without any prior educational experience. They also do not always have access to the materials they need in order to achieve success in learning. Covid-19 has made this need even more relevant in the lives of my young students. Many families did not have computers or WiFi in order to help their child during distance learning this past spring. Technology in the classroom is the new normal whether we are in an actual school building or distance learning at home. The struggle is keeping the students engaged while many other distractions are occurring around them. My project of computer headphones will help my students to remain attentive during lessons. Every child deserves a chance to hear their teacher and be engaged in the learning process.
