Everyone deserves a voice they can be confident in. Skills in communication have the potential to contribute greatly to one's success. My students participate in speech therapy in order to improve upon their ability to express their thoughts and feelings as well as project their voice. As a Speech-Language Pathologist, it is a priority to prepare my students to be successful in not only the school setting but in all areas of life. While things may look different this year, there will be no exceptions to this priority as I move to the virtual setting. As teletherapy becomes increasingly popular and necessary, it is important that each session continues to promote progress, learning, and creativity. A document camera (HoverCam Solo 8 Plus) would greatly impact my virtual sessions by simulating face to face meetings and offering a sense of normalcy to the students. Additionally, this piece of technology would assist me in keeping virtual therapy engaging and something that the students can look forward to.
