My students and I are in a Spanish Dual Immersion school; therefore, we need a classroom library that is filled with books in Spanish that represent our beautiful cultures. Many of my students already speak two languages, Spanish and English, at home but in kindergarten we are building the foundation for their reading and writing. In these early stages of their learning they are getting ready to read! What's more exciting than a library filled with books in Spanish? This is one of the first major exposures to books and reading that my students will have, therefore, I wish to make it the best experience for them.
