My students have a hard time maintaining focus throughout the day in chairs and desks that standard education offers to students. They sometimes need to be able to stand, sit or lay down on the floor. The items I am requesting for our program will allow our students the flexibility to choose work situations that will place them in a learning mode. Choosing the Surf Desks/Seats, the cushions, the Homfa Bamboo Laptop Desks, and the Neoclass Chair Rockers allow my students to choose the best work station situation so that they may complete their classwork comfortably. The anxiety these students have about life in general coupled with the expectations of school causes the need for a more flexible arrangement for their education. They generally have poor self-esteem that may come across as not caring, constant excessive movement, noises, and /or avoidance of participation in classes. The flexible work stations allow them a choice and the support to allow them to complete their day and schoolwork.
